The purpose of the procedure is to permanently improve your face contour in the jawline and to tighten loose skin and neck muscles, which have slackened and become flaccid. Neck-lift may successfully take away even 15 years of your age!
An aesthetic and clearly outlined jawline is recognised to be the synonym of youth and vigour.
Best candidates for such procedures are persons suffering from so-called turkey wattles and excess of slack skin in the jawline and on the neck.
Skin on the neck and jawline reveals ageing symptoms faster than face skin, while wrinkles on the neck are more visible than those on the face. Numerous patients complain about their double chin or side swelling, sometimes called ‘hamster cheeks’.
Therefore, patients who undergo procedures of this area are generally younger – usually under 45.
What is neck-lift procedure?
Neck-lift basically comprises two procedures – cervicoplasty and muscle correction of this area, i.e. platysmaplasty (from the Latin name of the surface neck muscle – platysma).
Medical consultation is necessary before the procedure. A candidate should be healthy and needs to stop smoking and taking medication that reduces blood coagulation two weeks before the procedure and in the healing period.
In the course of the procedure, a surgeon makes small cuts, which are invisible after healing, and an incision in the area of chin, which gives him access to and possibility to connect with stiches both digastric muscles and the broadest neck muscle, which is called platysma. The whole procedure takes about 1.5 hours and a patient returns home after it is over.
It is possible to connect neck plastic surgeries with other rejuvenating techniques of this area, most often liposuction of a ‘double’ chin with modelling of mandibular angles.
The period of full convalescence after the procedure is about 2-4 weeks. Stitches are removed 10 days after the operation. The final effect becomes visible one month after the procedure.
Laser skin rejuvenation using a picosecond laser is one of the state-of-the-art rejuvenating procedures based on fractional non-ablative lasers. The procedure maintains the continuity of surface layers of skin, which means the lack of ablation (!) (no negative aesthetic effects after the procedure).
A precise laser beam reaches deep layers of skin, using the effect of photoablation and photothermolysis to stimulate fibroblasts to produce new collagen and elastin. Skin is rebuilt and visibly toned.
The procedure of laser skin rejuvenation with a picosecond laser allows the removal of discolorations (pigmentation marks) and flattened shallow wrinkles caused by facial muscles of face (forehead, crow’s feet, smoker’s lines) and significantly improves the colour of skin and its general flexibility.
The use of a picosecond laser enables also the performance of a procedure to clean and brighten the face, i.e. is co-called carbon peel. Its effects guarantee light and beaming complexion even after a single procedure.
